Sugar Cookies for the Super Bowl

I'm still trying to perfect my homemade sugar cookies but I thought I would share my recipe. If anyone one has suggestions on something to do different, please let me know.  These are good but I like soft cookies and these get a little harder than I would like.

What you need:
2 3/4 Cups Flour                                     1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder               1 Cup Softened Butter (unsalted)
1 1/2 Cups Sugar                                    1 Egg ( I ended up using two)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Pre-Heat oven to 375

In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and baking powder.  Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.  This got a little dry for me, so that's why I added the additional egg.

Bake 8-10 minutes (mine only needed 8 minutes)

Royal Icing:
Mix to the consistence of your liking.
Powder Sugar
Vanilla
Milk or Water (I use milk to make it creamer)
Roll dough out to be about 1/4 inch.
Use cookie cutters to cut out your shapes

Decorate!!
